Vintage Hand Made Sterling & 14K Dagger Sword Cross Brooch

Suitable for man or woman, this is a hand made vintage brooch in the form of a side dagger or sword in sterling silver with a textured triangular over lay panel in 14K yellow gold. The brooch is marked on the back with a partial STERLING stamp and 14K. It is a large piece with deceptively simple form, that plays up the size of the sword's hilt to create a cross form as well. It has a rollover safety catch.

The brooch weighs 6.4 gr. It measures 3.25" long by 1.625" across. The gold overlay section measures 1.5" x .5".

Condition is good. Some expected tarnish.

The contrast between the plain silver and textured gold overlay with purposeful "tears" is a masterful design choice. It's a great dramatic piece that brings out the fierce warrior in the wearer. This would be great as a kilt pin. Think Conan the Barbarian.
