This is a fine antique Victorian Raj period sterling silver brooch depicting the Indian god Krishna standing with his bull Nandi. The brooch is unmarked but tests positive for silver content of sterling grade. The back has an old fashioned pin stem with T hinge and C clasp. The front of the brooch is heavily figured in high relief.
The brooch weighs 29.9 gr. It measures 2.125" x 1.5".
Condition is good. I speculate that this brooch may have once been a buckle that was converted during the Victorian period into a brooch.
This is a lovely ethnic brooch from India with great detail in the design.
