This is a whimsical antique silver brooch depicting a pair of winged putti, with one lounging on a branch watching the other blowing a bubble. The brooch is somewhat illegibly hall marked on the C clasp and also on the pin stem. The pin marks appear to read A A S&T, and the C clasp marks look like the French eagle or boar mark, something unreadable and A. The metal content tests positive for silver content of at least 800 silver. The construction of this brooch is unusual in that the putti are each pinned in place in such a way that they can move and pivot slightly.
This brooch weighs 11.2 gr. It measures 1.75" long by almost .875" tall.
Condition is good with some expected tarnish.
This charming brooch tells a playful story.
