This is a wonderful little antique ormolu jewelry box filled with tiny jewelry from the trousseau of an antique French fashion doll (mine). She wanted something very expensive so I told her she had to give up her jewels if she wanted me to buy her a new treasure.
The wonderful gilded brass ormolu jewelry box with glass top is lined in blue with braided edging. The jewelry box measures 2.75" x 2" x1.75" tall on its 4 little legs. The jewelry is all old but spans a long range of time, as she has been accumulating it for all of the past 150 years, so some is antique and some is vintage.
Jewelry: 1) Necklace - a cross on a linked crystal chain, + a Madonna charm, marked sterling on the clasp. This was probably a cut down rosary. 2) Vintage graduated faux pearl necklace 3) Pendant with rhinestones around an abalone shell center. 4) Tiny shield shaped pin says 50M , 1945 and has image of a mountain, marked made in USA on the back. 5) Tiny shield shaped pin with open book and sun rays above , marked EBY Co. Phila. on back 6) Tiny round globe shaped pin says IFYE on front and marked gold filled on back 7) Small gold tone bar pin 8) Leaf shaped mother of pearl pin set with letter B 9) Gold tone wire brooch spells out 'Baby' 10)Heart pendant with initials GC and Germany on the back 11) round gold tone pendant 12) Heart shaped agate brooch
So there you have it...her loss is your gain! She is willing to pawn all this (well most - she kept back a few gems)of her jewelry, because she wanted a new pair of shoes. Girls just gotta have their shoes!
