This is a 19" tall circa late 1800s to early 1900s German blond china head doll model #136, on commercially made antique body and dressed in a 2 piece striped cotton sailor dress outfit. I removed the head to check for condition and to photograph it, and thus was also able to see it is faintly marked with model number 136. That model number is associate with Kling, but I am not sure if that is a correct attribution or not. This doll head has a deep center part with sort curled wavy hair and exposed ears. She has dark painted eyebrows, a turned up nose and cupids bow lips.
Her body is a German kid leather commercially made body with china lower arms. The lower legs have sewn on stockings and black velvet slippers that I did not attempt to remove. Her china arms have been reattached as the leather was giving way there. Her antique clothing consists of white cotton pantaloons and chemise, topped by her 2 piece striped cotton sailor dress set with red silk ribbon trim, lace edged collar and cuffs.
Condition: The china shoulder head is in good condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a couple of minor kiln specks in the glaze. Her right hand has a minor chip on the fingertip. China arms have been reattached due to the weak leather there. There are some stains on the front of the skirt.
She is a pretty girl ready to come home to you.
