This is an exquisite antique Victorian period Austro Hungarian locket pendant with enamel, turquoise, and pearls in 900 silver setting and with original green velvet box. The pendant features an enameled center panel that depicts a bucolic scene of a lovely young lady feeding chickens. This is delightfully framed by arches dotted with white enamel , and flower forms studded with turquoise stones and pearls. The reverse side has a hinged glass covered locket that currently contains a lock of blond hair. The setting has a tiny illegible hallmark on the top bail loop. The metal tests positive for 900 grade silver.
The original box is covered in green velvet with a stand that pulls out in back. It is hinged on both sides and opens in the center, closing with a brass latch. The inside has a worn and darkened satin lining. The box measures 2.25" x 3.75" x 1".
The pendant measures 2" x 1.5". The center enamel panel measures .625" x 1". total weight is 15.3 gr.
Condition is over all good, but for 1 tiny turquoise stone missing at the top.
