This is a lovely antique Victorian period sterling silver Scottish cairngorm quartz and agate stone brooch. This brooch is unmarked but the metal tests positive for silver content of sterling grade. The back has an old fashioned T hinged pin stem and C clasp. The Faceted center stone is an attractive clear amber color. The quarter moon shaped agate stones alternate in color between a dark forest green and a warm brick red orange. A decorative pattern is engraved around the stones.
This brooch weighs 14.5 gr. It measures 1.625" in diameter. The center stone measures .75" in diameter.
Condition is good. I note a couple minor abrasions on the surface of the main stone visible under magnification.
This handsome brooch will make a fine kilt pin or to hold your Scottish tartan shawl in place.
