This is a heavy cast metal Victorian period brooch depicting St. George slaying a dragon. The brooch is unmarked. Metal does not test as silver. St. George is shown seating on his rearing horse as he spears the dragon at his feet. He is framed within the brooch by rosettes in each corner. He is depicted in raised relief with cutouts through the design.
This brooch measures 1.25" x 1.5" and is about .25" thick.
This is a very well made antique brooch, sure to please any fans of St. George.
