This is a very cute circa 1930s ethnic black 4" tall sock cloth Josephine Baker baby doll. The body is made from brown kit sock material and is dressed only in a fringe made from red wool felt. She has a short curly wool yarn hair with a red ribbon on one side, and embroidered facial features with side glancing eyes. She is permanently made to pose in a slightly seated, almost reclining position. She has short stubby arms and simple chunky legs.
Condition is overall good. Her red hair ribbon is beginning to shred and one of her red felt fringes is missing.
This little one is just about the most squee inducing bundle of cuteness I have found recently. I believe that she was made to resemble the famous black dancer Josephine Baker, given the fringed skirt and otherwise nudity. She likes to sit in the lap of the larger black lady cloth doll, offered separately.
