This is an unusual old ethnic South American brass necklace featuring 6 three dimensional figural effigies, 4 of which are nude. Each figure is unique. There are 3 nude male figures, 1 nude female figure, 1 clothed, and 1 nude but of indeterminate sex - covering all bases I guess. 5 of the figures have tall conical headpieces. Only the female figure has long hair worn down. The figures are linked to each other to form the necklace chain, and a plain curved brass collar piece forms the back portion of the necklace. There is a simple spring ring clasp on one end of the collar piece.
This necklace measures 17" in total length. The figures are each about 1" long plus bail loops on each end. The solid collar piece is an arc about 4.5" long.
Condition is good with expected patina.
This is a highly unusual ethnic necklace that appears to be handmade. It is difficult to judge exact age and I haven't yet been able to trace exact origins, perhaps Peru though.
