This is a beautiful dramatic mid century modern 1950s Lucite black orchid perfume bottle. This bottle is rectangular with beveled corners. The glass vial fits down into the Lucite body. The bottle has a gold tone screw top fitted with a dabber. The Lucite body has a black background. A single purple and white orchid floats on top of the background, encased in a clear surround. There are no labels, but Jane Art and Evans of New York marketed suspended flower bottles like these.
This bottle measures 3.25" tall including the gold top. The body alone without the cap measures 2.5" tall by 2.25" across by 1.125" deep.
Condition is over all good. The glass insert perfume vial still has old perfume residue to soak out. The Lucite body has minor scratches typical for age.
I love these pretty baubles, vestiges of a more glamorous time.
