This fine antique German parian porcelain shoulder head doll has the added feature of pierced ears as well as a simple but unusual hair style. She wears her hair with a small row of curls on top of the head, a smooth swoop of hair in back with a short braid horizontally across the back of the neck. Her 4 leaf clover rhinestone paste earrings are antique and believed to be original to her.
The shoulder head is marked with the number 7 impressed into the center back. The maker is unidentified, but the look and quality remind me of Conta & Boehme products. Her body is a simple old soft stuffed cloth body. The arms end in plain stumps with no defined hands.
The clothing is all antique and consists of a black and white striped cotton dress that buttons down the front. Underneath she wears a chemise, petticoat, pantaloons, and red knit slippers with leather soles.
Condition: The shoulder head is in good condition. There is one small pock mark manufacturing defect next to her mouth. Both slippers have holes in the heels.
She is a fine parian doll with uncommon hair style and pierced ears.
