This is a glittering deep red antique Victorian rose cut garnet brooch. the brooch is a slightly convex domed oval shape. It has an old fashioned pin back with T hinge and and a very old replacement C clasp. The setting tests as silver slightly below sterling grade, and is probably 800 silver.
This brooch weighs 10.7 gr, It measures1.5" x 1.125".
Condition: One stone projects a little and seems slightly larger so is assumed to be a replacement. The C clasp appears to have been replaced in the past.
This brooch reminds me of a ripe raspberry. It has luscious deep garnet red sparkling color.
