This is a heavy and rugged circa 1960s -1970s vintage Brutalist style natural raw amethyst crystal pendant and necklace chain. This pendant looks very much like the style of Danish designer Jacob Hull, but this pendant is unsigned, and since Hull was meticulous to always mark his work I have to assume that this pendant was made by someone imitating his style. The pendant's metal is testing positive for silver content but I suspect it is heavy silver plate. The chain is silver tone metal, not sterling.
The Brutalist style grew out of the architectural movement of the 1950s -1970s which featured massive rugged exposed building materials such as brick, concrete and steel. This jewel mimics that feel in its heavy strong setting and chain, and the fiercely natural large chunk of amethyst set within.
This necklace weighs 118.4 gr. The pendant measures 3.5" x 2.125". The chain is 26" around and has no clasp. The is .25" wide.
Condition is good.
This necklace is bold and requires an equally bold individual to wear it. Be that bold person!
