This elegant lady is a china half doll made by Dressel & Kister circa early 1900s. She is in her original configuration and dress, and is a candy box. The top lifts up to reveal the cloth covered box container within the base. The company markings can't be seen because I have not disturbed the fragile original costume to examine the base where it would be marked. She is posed in a slightly forward bend as though she has just picked the rose she holds in her hand. She stands 9" tall, excluding the silk headdress on her head.
Condition: The only damage I have spotted to the china half doll is 2 tiny chips to the edges of the rose she holds in her hand - see photos. Her clothing is faded, and quite fragile, but largely intact though shedding fragments of silk.
It is rare to find an example like this still all original. She is a rare and delicate little beauty.
