This is an unusual antique Victorian period 800 silver brooch in the form of a silver cameo relief bust of a lady facing to the right, framed by a rose gold gilded circle and further ringed by a double row of gilded balls on petal-like stems. The metal content tests positive for silver content of at least 800 grade silver. There is a tiny illegible touch mark on the clasp - probably either a French or Austro-Hungarian mark from what I can see. I am leaning towards French based on the style of the brooch. The brooch has its original pin back with T hinge and C clasp.
The brooch weighs 10.2 gr. It measures 1.325" in diameter.
Condition is overall good. There is wear to the gold gilding on the balls. Several of these balls also have small dents visible under magnification.
The spray of radiating orbs surrounding the silver cameo relief of the lady is surprisingly modern in appearance for a piece that dates from the 1800s.
