This is an unusual German bisque pincushion half doll with wig and jointed arms that has been given a complete lower body. She is a typical complete half doll with bisque to the top of the hips, but I can't uncover this area with undoing the fabric that attaches her to her cloth lower legs. Though I can't see if she has any model numbers I suspect that this doll was made by Heubach. Her bent arms are jointed at the shoulders. Her head is tilted up and turned to her left. She has a bald pate with an original brown mohair wig glued in place. She is period dressed in a short floral semi sheer silk frock with same fabric belt. she has pale pink silk pettipants and half slip underneath. She has silk stockings and sewn on burgundy high heeled shoes. A choker necklace of faux glass pearl beads completes her look.
As a complete doll she stands 12" tall. As a half doll she measures 4.5" top to bottom.
Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs to any of the bisque parts. I guarantee that even the covered parts are undamaged. She has a run/hole in the front of her stocking on her right leg. The shoe on her right foot appears to have been repaired and the stitching is cruder there.
This charming long legged young lady reminds me of the comedic character Edith Ann as portrayed by Lily Tomlin. Accordingly I have had her displayed in a slightly over-sized chair. She bends easily at the top of the legs and sits nicely.
