Victorian Aesthetic Period Sterling Silver Crane Bird Brooch

This is an attractive Victorian Aesthetic period sterling silver brooch featuring a Japanese crested ibis crane bird. The design of the bird is engraved within the center circle and framed by a pattern of triangles that collectively resemble the sun. The back of the brooch is is brass and has a sturdy old fashioned T hinged pin stem and C clasp. There are no markings. The front of the brooch tests positive for silver content of sterling grade.

This brooch weighs 10.3 gr. It measures 1.25" in diameter.

Condition is over all good. There is some wear in the form of small indentations .

This is a classic design the shows the influence of Japanese style on the Victorian Aesthetic design movement.
