This is a rugged Mid Century Modern hand made sterling silver ring with textured band set with a large rectangular chunk of orange agate stone. The stone is securely held by 4 sturdy prongs. The end prongs pierced into the ends of the stone for additional security. There are no markings but the metal tests positive for silver content of sterling grade. The style of this ring reminds me of the Brutalist style of Danish jewelry designer Jacob Hull. I suspect that the maker of this ring may have been influenced by the Brutalist style movement of the 1950s-70s, and by Hull in particular.
This ring is a US size 7. The ring weighs a substantial 11.8 gr. The ring band measures 5mm wide. The stone measures 27mm x 12mm x 12mm.
Condition is good.
This style of ring is not for the faint of heart. It is not a shy ring at all. It is a ring for a trail blazer. A bold ring for a bold person, it will be your statement piece.
