This is an intriguing antique 900 silver British India Raj period locket pendant featuring the God Vishnu riding the bird Garuda. There are no visible markings. The metal tests positive for silver content slightly below sterling grade, and is estimated to be 900 grade silver. The locket has a frame insert and glass in the back, which can be gently pried out to insert the photo or memento of your choice.
The locket weighs 17.6 gr. It measures 1.25" x 1.5" (not including the bail) and is .5" deep.
Condition is good, with expected superficial wear from typical usage and age.
The image of Vishnu is figured in deep relief against a highly textured background. It is a handsome pendant sure to draw attention to the wearer.
