This is a beautiful Georgian period bracelet composed of a ribbon of fine metal mesh decorated with petit point stitched flowers and attached to a wide gold tone Pinchbeck clasp. The decorative clasp is a bright gold color and is unmarked, but tests as a brass alloy consistent with Pinchbeck. The bracelet band is backed with a strip of yellow gold silk.
The bracelet has a wearable length of 6.375". It is 1.625" wide at the clasp.
Condition is good considering the age and material. The silk backing has some minor age discoloration. One connecting stitch between band and clasp needs to be restitched.
This bracelet is a remarkable survivor and a wonderful example of sewing skills. I can't imagine stitching those intricate roses through a metal mesh. If you appreciate unique jewelry of considerable antiquity and hand craftsmanship, then this beauty may speak to you.
