This is a fine circa 1940s vintage sterling vermeil necklace and bracelet set made by the W. E. Richards Co. and marked with their name Symmetalic. W. E. Richards Co. of North Attleboro, MA has been in business since around 1900. Their Symmetalic line was first produced in 1936 and was still in use as late as 1946. Symetallic jewelry was typically sterling silver with a 14K gold vermeil finish, as is this set. Both the necklace and bracelet are marked on the clasps SYMMETALIC STERLING + 1/20 14K. The necklace and bracelet are both composed of large links that resemble a pair of C's hooked together. The large links are joined to each other by small ribbed links. Only the front has a gold vermeil finish. The back has been left silver.
The necklace weighs 27.9 gr and measures 16" long. The bracelet weighs 13.1 gr. and measures 7" long. Both are .625" wide.
Condition is good.
Because the clasps are identical on both necklace and bracelet you can join them into one longer 23" necklace if you wish. This is a classic versatile set that will never go out of style.
