This is a vividly painted 5" tall vintage American Indian doll posed with bow and arrow. The body, bow, and arrow are formed on wire tightly wrapped with colored paper. The head is a round ball with fiercely painted features and floss hair. The loin cloth and shoes appear to be leather. He also wears a feather in his hair. There is a loop of string attached to the top of the head so he can be hung up like an ornament.
Condition: The bow is missing the bow string.
I don't know the maker or exact age of this fellow, but his pose and striking appearance grabbed my attention. I do not think he was made by any American Indian tribe, but rather made elsewhere to represent an American Indian. For a small doll he has a large presence.
