This is an antique hallmarked London 1897 Sterling Silver figural brooch depicting a soldier on a rearing horse. The brooch is hallmarked on the back. The back has an old fashioned T hinged pin stem and C clasp. The man is holding something in his raised hand, perhaps a scroll or a small dagger. It is not a broken sword though. Whatever is in his hand is complete as it was made.
This brooch weighs 6.1 gr. It measures 1.125" x 1".
Condition is good, with expected age patina.
This small brooch is remarkably detailed despite its size.
