This is an unusual 900 silver brooch depicting a Mayan priest smoking a cheroot. The brooch is marked 900 for silver content, GUATE for Guatemala, and an illegible maker's mark - possibly TM followed by 3 horizontal bars. The priests costume has a thin layer of gold over the headdress and loin cloth. The gold has not been tested. The brooch has a simple hook clasp with an additional twist of wire that serves as a safety catch to hold the pin in place.
The brooch weighs 5.6 gr. It measures 2.125" tall by .875" across.
Condition is good.
