This is a well made vintage circa 1940s-1950s Japanese sterling silver cultured pearl brooch in the form of a leaf stem with pearls flower buds. The brooch is marked SILVER and tests for very high grade silver content probably 950 silver. There are 5 pearls, each about 5mm in diameter.
This brooch weighs 3.3 gr. It measures 1.5" x .625".
Condition is good with some expected tarnish.
This lovely brooch could easily be adapted to be worn as a pendant, either by running a chain under the hinge or clasp; or by adding a bail loop to the stem end.
