9" Antique Jointed Wooden Anatomically Correct Boy Doll Burma Myanmar

This is an unusual 9" tall antique jointed wooden anatomically correct boy doll from Burma, now Myanmar. This little boy is not a puppet. The string in the back serves to hold the joints together and he can also be hung up for display using this cord, but it does not function as a puppet. It is a doll. The head and torso are carved as one. He is jointed at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. His wrist joints are currently stuck and I don't want to force them, but all other joints move freely. He has a cap of black hair painted on top of the head, and black painted eyes. Other anatomical details, including genitals, and outlined in red. Genitals are suggested in the carving as well.

Condition is overall good. There is a little paint loss in the back.

This pleasantly smiling fellow is a lot of fun to pose. He represents a playful baby boy - and there is no naughtiness in his nudity. Age is difficult to pinpoint, but he is certainly not of recent make, and I would estimate that he probably dates from around 1900.
