This is beautiful antique Victorian period hand painted porcelain portrait of a lady set in a gold tone brooch setting ringed with real seed pearls. The setting is unmarked. The lady is a pretty brown eyed brunette with a rose in her long hair and a red cap on her head. She is wearing 4 strand pearl necklace and a low cut white gown. The porcelain stone is marked on the back 37. The setting has an old fashioned T hinged pin stem and C clasp.
The brooch measures 2" x 1.625".
Condition is good. There is a small gap in the ring of pearls where the ends of the wire that holds the pearls meet. Both ends of the wire are secured in place. Either the pearls have shifted in place over time or possibly 1 pearl might be missing.
Isn't she a beauty!
