This is a one of a kind hand crafted 1970s vintage sterling silver double boulder opal leaf shaped pendant on 21" sterling twisted rope necklace chain. I matched the chain to the pendant. The chain dates from the 1980s. The pendant is unmarked but tests positive for silver content of sterling grade. The chain is marked 925 for sterling on the clasp. The pendant features a pair of oval boulder opals each fashioned to reveal in the center their opal core material peaking through a rust orange matrix base. The opals flash colors of green and red.
The combined weight of pendant and chain is 10.9 gr. The chain measures 21" long. The pendant measures 2" long by .75" across. The opals measure 9mm x 12mm and 10mm x 13mm.
Condition is good, with some expected patina from age on the silver.
I wish I knew who made this attractive opal pendant or where the opals came from, but it's origins are unknown. The opals are especially nice and the setting is unusual. I'm so tempted to keep this one for myself, so grab it before I change my mind.
