Vintage 13" Mexican Gaucho Caballero Gentleman Cowboy Cloth Doll

This is a very detailed 13" tall vintage hand made cloth Mexican caballero gentleman cowboy doll. He has inset eyes and teeth that I think are made from pottery. Silk cloth is pulled tight over a harder molded surface to form the shape of his facial features. Ears are applied. His hair is made from black thread. Details of mustache, eyebrows and lips are painted. He has mitten hands with separate thumbs and flat stitched fingers.

The clothing is very elaborate. He has a black felt suit trimmed with soutache braid and little silver tone metal rose buttons. His hat is a heavier felt with colorful trim and metal horseshoes on either side. He wears a black belt with a gun holster. Shoes are black felt.

Condition: There is some water damage to the face that has caused some color to run. A few threads of his hair are loose.

The inset eyes and teeth intrigue me. His is not a handsome face, but he has a whole lot of personality.
