This is a beautiful antique Victorian hand painted porcelain plaque in a handsome gold filled brooch setting that depicts a seductively lounging beautiful dark haired woman. She is posed reclining on a lion skin. One arm is raised to frame her head and the other hand supports her head. One knee is raised over the other and her red shoes are exposed. She is wearing a strand of pearls in her hair, a golden skirt with blue flowers, and a low cut white blouse. Behind her parted curtains frame a glowing sunset or sunrise.
There are no markings. The settings tests as gold filled.
This brooch measures almost 2.25" across x 1.875" tall.
Condition: I note only a tiny scratch over the foot area, visible only under magnification.
This is an exceptionally well painted and appealing image. The setting is a perfect compliment to the lovely lady.
