This is an unusual circa 1980s marked sterling silver and 14K yellow gold pierced abstract necklace and earrings set. The 25" long snake chain necklace holds 2 freely sliding 14K gold ball beads and a single large silver pieced double dome bead. The coordinating earrings are silver pierced oval domes with 14K yellow rectangles inlaid. They have pierced post backs. The necklace chain is marked 925 on the clasp. The gold beads test positive as 14K and the rest of the necklace tests as sterling silver. The earrings are marked .925 and 14K.
The necklace weighs 16.4 gr. The chain is 25" long The large silver bead measures .625" x .875". The gold beads are each 7mm diameter. The earrings have a combined weight of 6.6 gr. They each measure .75" x 1".
Condition is good.
The abstract pierced designs on these pieces have a hieroglyphic quality, that is at once both ancient and very modern.
