Vintage Bennington Potters Vermont Blue Agate Covered Casserole or Dutch Oven

Vintage Bennington Potters Vermont Blue Agate stoneware covered casserole or Dutch oven features wonderful cobalt blue sponge ware decoration. The casserole has wide tab handles and shaped so it can easily be picked up and the cover has an open loop handle. They are handmade so each one is similar yet different.

The dish and cover are in perfect condition. The casserole bears the Bennington Potters Vermont impressed mark and numbered *1622 with initials "YA". It measures 10 1/2 inches across (not including the handles) and 4 1/4 inches tall (not including the cover). The Blue Agate Sponge Ware dinnerware is still being made; however, this particular piece is not. It is vintage 1970's.

This classic pattern is timeless and is perfect for everyday as well as special occasions.
