Vintage Limoges Round Trinket Box - Figural Bird, Pink Roses - Hand Painted Signed MB, Rochard

I find it difficult to determine the age of this figural bird trinket box. The underglaze green crescent Limoges mark is I think significantly earlier than the artist decorating mark, which I think is from the Rochard time period (beginning mid-1970s). It is signed with what appears to be an MB. Unfortunately I don't know the name of this decorator, but he/she is certainly skilled. Rochard boxes themselves are highly prized for their quality. It seems to me likely that the Rochard manufactory bought some older Limoges whiteware boxes and then painted them.

This lovely round box is 1-7/8" in diameter x 1-7/8" tall to the top of the bird. It is beautifully decorated with pink roses on the top and green leaves around a pole (a Maypole?) on the side and green leaves inside.

It is in Near Mint or better condition with NO chips or cracks. I say Near Mint rather than Mint because it is possible there is the tiniest bit of color missing in the patch on the top of the bird's head. I don't think there is but it is possible so I wanted to mention it.

Notes: There is a thin small black mark in the unglazed edge on the underside of the lid. This is not a chip, just a bit of dirt there. There is also a tiny bit of dirt in the unglazed edge on the bottom. I believe these marks can be cleaned off if desired, but I am hands-off re vintage materials. The centers of the lid and bottom are glazed. It is just the edges that are unglazed. There is also a bit of tag residue on the bottom that I'm sure will remove easily.

I am happy to answer questions. My buyers often note that my items are as good or BETTER than described. They also rave about my careful packing. (More in About Me.)

Packed carefully. Shipped quickly. I ship worldwide. Shipping is free in the U.S. International buyers should contact me re shipping costs.

Note: I am always open to considering reasonable offers.
