Impressionistic Oil Painting by Perlmutter of Women in Garden

This composition is of two women in a garden. One is sitting on a bench and is reading, the other is arranging flowers. The predominate colors are green, pink, cream and light brown.

The painting is signed in the lower left. The art is 30 x 40 inches. The wood frame has a gold finish and is 34 1/2 x 44 1/2 inches. The back is covered with a brown paper dust jacket. The art is in very good condition. The frame has a few chips and wear. There is an image of the worst damage on one corner. This chip is approximately 1 inch long.

Our gallery has issued a Certificate of Authenticity for the art. It reads - Stella Perlmutter (1911 - 1993), "In the Garden", oil on canvas, signed. Circa 1960's. St. Louis painter active in the 1960's and 1970's. She exhibited at the St. Louis Artist Guild and received a great deal of local attention.
