Chintz Vase, Ivoryware, Empire, Lilac Time

This is a small beautiful china vase known as Chintz. The vase is in a floral pattern with pink, blue and yellow against a beige background. The rim is highlighted with gold trim and has slight wear. The bottom is marked: Empire, Ivoryware, England, 5.35, Lilac Time.

The vase is 4” tall. It measures 2 ¾” across top. The base is 2 1/8” in diameter. The condition is very good. There are no chips or cracks. Crazing can be seen in the beige areas of the vase.

Chintz is the generic name for English china with an allover floral transfer design. It was produced in England during the first half of the 20th Century.
