Return from the Garden is an original oil painting on canvas by Oldrich Farsky (Czechoslovakia circa 1860 to circa 1930). This is of a young woman carrying a basket of vegetables and a garden hoe. Mountains can been seen in the background and the sky is a soft pink.

The painting is 26 x 16 1/4 inches. The frame is 31 x 20 1/2 inches. The painting has been restored. There is a 5 inch horizontal slice in the canvas below the woman's feet that has been patched, but can be seen. The frame also has some imperfections. There are images of these.

Farsky immigrated from Czechoslovakia to the USA. He settled in the area of Chicago. He is mentioned in a book, "The Czechs in America: A Study of their National, Cultural, Political, Social, Economic and Religious Life" by Thomas Capek. Biographical information is supplied by Chris Woodman.
