Here is a wonderful Staffordshire covered soup tureen with under plate. This is decorated with brown transfer and with areas of hand decoration beneath the glaze. The bowl has porcelain handles on each end and the lid has an opening for the spoon to rest in.
The bottom of the bowl and the bottom of the plate are marked. One of the marks reads: Royal Staffordshire Pottery, England, Jenny Lind, 1795.
This is a nice large size. The plate is 13 1/2 x 11 inches. The bowl is 5 3/4 inches tall and 8 x 13 1/2 at the widest point. The lid is 12 1/2 x 9 inches. The three pieces together are 9 1/2 inches tall.
There is some overall crazing, mainly on the lid. Other than this, all are in very good condition with no chips or cracks.
