Hand Painted Porcelain Vase with Roses by Margaret Surber

For sale is a stunning hand-painted, one-of-a-kind vase with two golden scrolled handles by Master China Painter, Margaret Surber. On a background of ivory and pink she has painted a scene of beautiful hydrangeas and on the opposite side is a bouquet of soft yellow roses. The vase measures 14" x 9" x 7" and is signed below the handle on one side by the artist. The gold trim around the neck and the handles are 24kt gold. The condition of the vase is excellent with no chips, cracks or damage.

Margaret Surber (American, 1913 - 2001) won many awards for her china painting, including three ribbons at the 1963 World's Fair in Seattle. She was the president of the International China Painting Teachers Association. She also wrote several books about how to paint on porcelain.
