1940's - 50's Katzhutte 'Keets from Germany

When it come to Budgies - it figures! And figure they do in this wonderful 'n whimsical sculpture by Hertwig & Co. of Katzhutte, Germany. Made of porcelain and finished in a shiny glaze our Parakeet pals are shown in a state of bliss with eyes only for each other. This piece is circa 1941-1958 and is in excellent condition with nary a chip or crack. I do see some paint loss at the tip of a tail (see pic) which we believe to be original and mentioned only for accuracy and not for alarm. The pair measure 7.5" to the top of the "looker's" head (as opposed to the "swooner's") and are about 5 7/8" x 3" at the base. The Hertwig logo is somewhat unrecognizable on the bottom but we guarantee its authenticity and it bears the number 3806. A fabulous and fun pair, buy 'em today and love them tomorrow!
