Rare Arts and Crafts Stylized Bird Figural Furniture Plates

A most uncommon set of four Victorian furniture hardware pieces from Austria each in the shape of some type of long-necked bird (Heron, Flamingo, Crane, etc.) and crafted of (we believe) copper over brass. Each piece measures 9.75" x 2" at its widest area and has a cut-out in its center with single holes for nails in the bird's eye, above the cut-out, and two at the base. They are lightweight with a convex presentation at the eye, wings and feet. All are in good condition for their age with the patina varying from one to the other, a touch of scratching, and some easily remedied bending around some of the nail holes. Unmarked and unusual with two of the birds facing one way while the second pair faces the other. Love 'em? Get 'em, for it's possible you'll never see their like again.
