Large & Lovely Rosenthal Parrot Figure from Germany

With his dramatic stance and vivid coloring this gent is meant to impress and when you factor in his size and weight he tips the scales...literally! Well made and elegantly crafted, this porcelain Parrot was created in the 1980's for Rosenthal by the German artist Prof. Theodor Karner and is stamped "T. Karner" on the bottom along with a Rosenthal logo. It is hand painted in shades of orange, yellow, bluish-gray, and black and is perched atop a scrolled base. The detail on this bird is incredible with lines in both his feathers and feet, and he is well proportioned; 10.25" from head to tail, 8.25" in height and a wingspan of 8.25" makes him just about life-sized. As previously mentioned he's a stout lad weighing in at four pounds all by his lonesome and aside from a little paint wear on his flight feathers and four minute lacks on his tail tips (see pics) he's in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. A truly outstanding sculpture that's certain to become one of your favorites. We're certain you'll not only be pleased but delighted!
