Half doll Germany 8031

This is a very pretty half doll with high back collar, fan and plumed hat. She stands 4 inches tall and is marked to the reverse as Germany 8031. These type dolls are very collectible and their size makes them easy to display - the absence of the legs is due to the fact these were made as "working dolls" and designed to be put to use adorning everyday household items such as pin cushions, powder jars, tea cozies, appliance covers etc.(they would have been sewn on using the holes seen just about the waist). The porcelain is in very nice condition and the paint very good - she was likely attached to something(as a finial) that was lifted frequently as evidenced by the wear to her bright plume. Overall in wonderful vintage condition and will likely date to the early 1900 through the 20's as most of them do.
