On these Scottish Victorian bracelets the closures are either a square or heart-shaped lock. In this case the heart is banded agate on one side and engraved silver on the other (slight indentation). However, to save these being handled too much, a regular spring ring could be installed. There are large carnelian panels with bars of banded agate in between. The work done by Scottish craftsmen in Victorian times is wonderful and Queen Victorian was an avid collector of all things Scottish. This will fit up to an 8 inch wrist. All the connecting parts are silver, not mandatory to be marked in this period. Please not: There is slight grazing damage on side of the agate - see picture. See my other items from this period in Scottish history. I will be adding and amending other items.
