In wonderful condition, this cigar or cheroot case measures 4 1/2 inches by 3 inches and is 3/4 inches thick. The silver is beautifully engraved all over and has the initials F.C.E. (usually meaning the large C in the center would be for the surname). The inside has a gold wash and there are the hallmarks (see picture) for 1896 Birmingham, England and M & L for Minshull & Latimer, silversmiths. It's a good weight, really special - for a man or woman - shaped to fit a man's back pocket or a lady's hand - who wouldn't want a purse like this? Absolutely no dings or dents. Weight 5 1/8 ounces (145 grams).
