I have never seen a posy holder like this - take a small bunch flowers and secure on the prong on the inside. It is clearly marked STERLING and the R B Co marks indicate the silversmiths as R. Blackinton & Co. of Massachusetts 1862-1967. This company was absorbed by Raymond Silver Mfg. Co. but I don't have the date of this. I would think the holder would be older as posies were very popular years ago. I will have to let you decipher the initials DHE or FHI - sorry, hard to tell by the script. Measures 2 inches long, width 1/4 inch.
