Sterling Silver Overlay Perfume or Salts Bottle Green Glass

This is a beautiful little green glass and sterling silver overlay perfume or smelling salts bottle which dates to around 1900. It has a swirling Art Nouveau design in the overlay and the bottle itself is a deep emerald green. The screw on lid is monogrammed on the top with the initials M F. Beneath the screw on lid there is a glass stopper. The screw on lid is marked Sterling 7. The silver overlay on the bottle is marked Fine Silver. This marking is very faint and hard to see. The bottom of the bottle is marked 049 and the glass stopper is marked 024.

This lovely little bottle is just over 2 inches tall and about 1 inch across. It is in very good condition. There is wear to the bottom of the glass, indicating the age of the piece. There are a couple of dents in the sterling screw on cap (very common in these items) and some fleabites on the stopper and the interior rim of the jar. The bottom of the stopper is rough, but I think it was made that way.
