Edwardian Pink Shell Cameo 10K Gold Enamel and Seed Pearls

This is an exquisite Edwardian era oval cameo made of pink (conch) shell set in 10K gold highlighted with black enamel and surrounded by tiny seed pearls. It can be worn as either a brooch or a pendant. The pin catch is the older style of safety catch and it is marked 10K. The bale is made to flip up or down as needed and it also swivels to more easily accommodate the chain without requiring an additional loop. The cameo is very nicely carved and the delicate setting enhances the beautiful pink of the shell.

It measures 1 1/4 inches by 1 inch and it is in excellent condition. The bottom edge of the outer portion of the setting is very slightly flattened, but this is hardly noticeable and is mentioned only for completeness.
