Vintage 14K Gold and Synthetic Alexandrite Ring Color Change
The stone shows the typical color change in different lights - incandescent light makes it look deep purple red and florescent light makes it look more of a blue purple. In this stone the difference is not as strongly pronounced as it is in some I have seen. I couldn't capture it in the photographs. Stones that are described as synthetic alexandrite are actually synthetic corundum (sapphire). These stones have been made since the late 1800s.
The ring is a size 5 1/2 and it is in excellent condition. It could be resized by a jeweler if needed.
