Vintage Japanese Lacquer Powder Box Orchid Design
Here is a very pretty Japanese vintage lacquer powder box that dates from the mid 20th century. It is lightweight plastic with a lacquer design of orchids on the top. It is black and the orchids are rendered in gold and white. There is a design in concentric circles in dark red that forms a background. The handle is a flower shape in gold plastic. There is a foil sticker on the bottom with a logo of a K within a circle, and the word 'Japan'. It is in excellent condition. It is 5 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. There is a little area of glue residue on the bottom, probably from a price tag.
